Our Essentials Range

Background

TheEssentialsRange has been designed as an easy introduction to a regular grooming regime. The 7 products will cover every aspect and includes essentials for skincare, shaving, hair-styling and grooming for men.

We knew from the outset that the range should be natural and devoid of chemical preservatives that are a feature of many high street brands. After years of painstaking research a group of ingredients named 'Natural Moisturising Factors' were selected.

NMFs are ingredients that naturally mimic the structure of your skin. They allow your skin to do its job of repairing and regenerating itself and will help to make skin look and feel better. The Essentials Range is particularly suited to sensitive or problem skin due to their natural and nourishing ingredients.

The Essentials Range

• The All Over Wash – A 2 in 1 Shampoo and Body Wash
  Designed to help improve the structure and condition of skin, scalp and hair. Containing ingredients such as: Soya Oil, Vitamin A, C and E.

• The Face Wash - A Moisturising Face Wash
  Developed to purify and detoxify you skin and promote healthy skin rejuvenation. Containing ingredients such as: Soya Oil and Natural Seaweed Extract.

• The Face Scrub - A Deep Cleansing & Exfoliating Face Scrub
  Packed full of walnut kernels, to naturally help unblock pores and remove dead skin cells whilst keeping your skin moisturised. Containing natural ingredients such as Apricot Kernel Oil, Coconut Oil & Cocoa Butter.

• The Shave Cream - Super Rich Moisturising Shave Cream
  Created to provide a closer more comfortable shave by protecting the skin from irritations caused by daily shaving such as nick, razor bumps and in growing hairs. Containing ingredients such as Sweet almond Oil, Coconut Oil and Wheat Germ Oil.

• The Shave Oil - Nourishing Shave Oil
  Using a blend a natural oils to create a barrier between the razor and your skin the shave oil is also absorb into your skin leaving it highly nourished and moisturised without leaving your skin greasy. Containing ingredients such as; Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil and Apricot Kernel Oil.

• The Face Balm - Light, Non-Greasy Moisturiser
  Easily absorb in absorbed into the skin and contains UV filters to protect skin from environmental damage alongside helping to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. Containing ingredients such as; Shea butter, Grapeseed Oil and Wheat Germ Oil

• The Styling Cream - A Strong, Pliable Long Lasting Hold, with Matte Finish Styling Cream
  Developed to give added moisture, hydration and softness to your hair whilst keeping it in place all day long. Containing ingredients such as; Beeswax, Canola Oil and Jojoba Oil.

The Science

TheEssentialsRange” has been developed using selected natural ingredients called “Natural Moisturising Factors” (NMF’s) these ingredients naturally mimic the structure and function of healthy male skin.

While the oil and fat components of skin prevent evaporation and provide lubrication to the surface of skin, it is actually the intercellular matrix, along with the skin’s lipid content, that gives skin a good deal of its surface texture and feel. The intercellular matrix is the skin’s first line of defense against water loss. When the lipid and NMF content of skin is reduced, we experience surface roughness, flaking, fine lines, and a tight, uncomfortable feeling.

More important, all of these ingredients help support the intercellular area of the skin by keeping it intact. This support helps prevent surface irritation from penetrating deeper into the skin, helps keep bacteria out, and aids the skin’s immune/healing system.

By using NMFs ingredients within our products, they will help your skin to do its job of repairing and regenerating itself without the impedances brought on when skin is suffering from dryness, environmental distress, or excess irritation.

All of our products contain at least one NMF

Natural Moisturising Factors

Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF). One of the primary elements in keeping skin healthy is making sure the structure of the epidermis (outer layer of skin) is intact. The components that do this are often called natural moisturising factor (NMF) or ingredients that mimic the structure and function of healthy skin. While the oil and fat components of skin prevent evaporation and provide lubrication to the surface of skin, it is actually the intercellular matrix, along with the skin’s lipid content, that gives skin a good deal of its surface texture and feel. The intercellular matrix is the skin’s first line of defense against water loss. When the lipid and NMF content of skin is reduced, we experience surface roughness, flaking, fine lines, and a tight, uncomfortable feeling. The longer the skin’s surface layer (stratum corneum) is impaired, the less effective the skin’s intercellular matrix becomes. NMFs make up an expansive group of ingredients, all of which can be extremely helpful in making dry skin look and feel better.

All of the skin’s supporting NMFs and lipids are present in the intercellular structure of the epidermis, both between skin cells and in the lipid content on the surface of skin. When any of these ingredients are included in skin-care products, they appear to help stabilize and maintain this complex intercellular-skin matrix. More importantly, all of these ingredients, and many more, help support the intercellular area of the skin by keeping it intact. This support helps prevent surface irritation from penetrating deeper into the skin, helps keep bacteria out, and aids the skin’s immune/healing system.
